If nothing went wrong, you all have received an email from Rachel Smothers with the fall schedule and the courses that will be available this fall term.
Things you might or might not know already:
-Going 'trackless'
for MDes students, ID offers you 3 tracks. Fact: you can go trackless if you want (pick courses from any track you want and make your own courses cocktail). As long as your advisor approves it, you can do it.
-Courses info
Don't try to decide already which courses to take. Wait until the week before registration. Hopefully, by then, you will have access to courses' description and your mentor and other students would have given you more info about courses.
I am sure current students will add some more..

Can someone confirm that Foundations year students do NOT have to worry about picking classes?
Also, with regards to the fall schedule, I still have not seen one that indicates holiday breaks. Is this available? Thanks.
Foundation students do not pick their classes.
There is no fall break for ID students, we only get winter holidays mid dec- mid jan, and spring break, 3rd or so week of march.
the way the semester is broken down for non-foundation students are 7-8 weeks of a session, 1 intersession week, and 7-8 weeks of b sessions. so you will notice that your classes will have a, b, or i next to them. except for workshops which run all year long.
So is there a calendar that marks the begin/end dates for each session, plus holidays?
there is a schedule up on seeid, but new students probably can't access it yet. so here's the fall schedule below:

A session: August 28th - October 13th
Labor Day Holiday: Monday September 4th
Intersession: October 16th - 20th
B session: October 23rd - December 8th
Last day of classes: December 8th
Finals period: December 11th - December 15th
Fall 2006 Graduation Reception: Thursday, December 14th
